Sam Sweeney (born in Nottingham, in 1989) is a multi-instrumental English folk musician.

Sam has been playing fiddle since he was six, he now plays and teaches fiddle. Since 2002 Sweeney has been at the forefront of East Midlands-based folk band Kerfuffle, playing fiddle, viola, and cajon, and singing.[1] In 2009 Sam released Catches and Glees with new duo Hannah James and Sam Sweeney.
Sam is also a member of the, award-winning, big folk band Bellowhead as of 2008.
As of 2009 he tours with Jon Boden and the Remnant Kings where he sometimes plays drums and fiddle simultaneously.[2]
Sam has also been part of the Fay Hield's new album [3] And, along with Rob Harbron, tours with Hield.
Sam has won a number of awards including the 'In The Tradition' award and the 'Wiltshire Folk Association Young Folk Award'. He was also a nominated in the 2004 BBC Young Folk Awards.[4]
In 2006 Sam won a bursary from the BBC performing arts fund.[1]
